A Small Park With Many Landscapes

Lake Manyara National Park sits below the Rift Valley escarpment and offers a surprising variety of habitats in a short distance: forest, lakeshore, grassland, acacia woodland, and hot springs.

It is known for birdlife, flamingos when conditions are right, elephants, baboons, giraffes, hippos, and occasional tree-climbing lions.

Because it is close to Arusha and near Ngorongoro, Lake Manyara is useful for compact safari routes or for adding variety to a northern circuit itinerary.
