Destination Guide

Baobabs, Elephants, and Slower Safari Days

Tarangire National Park is named after the Tarangire River, a key dry-season water source that draws elephants, buffalo, zebra, giraffe, antelope, and predators into the valley.

The park feels distinct from the busier northern icons. Its baobab-dotted landscapes are striking, and the wildlife viewing can be excellent when the dry season concentrates animals around water.

Tarangire is also a strong birding destination, with varied habitats and hundreds of recorded species.
